Born and raised in Westchester County, NY, at age ten, my pet rabbit inspired this poem,
Hop, hop, hop.
Chew, chew, chew.
Sleep, sleep, sleep – that’s all you ever do!
My not so grown-up philosophy is this: creative writing orchestrates discipline and structure, logic and purpose, and, perhaps ultimately – emotion born of truth. Within lines of poetry, lyrics of librettos, and dialogue scenes in screenplays live the components of my soul.
I’ve spent the past 24 years teaching high school English, and I pray that Richard Bach’s notion “We teach best what we most need to learn,” exists for my students and myself.
Motherhood summons daily. There’s laundry to fold and life to ponder . . . and then there’s the dog – more aptly, the pets.
A wise friend once called me a perfect human being. A wise friend indeed.
My favorite word is faith.
